Position Summary:
Processing Maintenance lV will be responsible for the continuous running of equipment and machinery. Using computerized systems, you will oversee routine maintenance and organize repairs. You will be involved with control monitoring devices and occasionally in the manufacture of items that will help in maintenance. You will also be responsible for training new technicians as they onboard.
Responsibilities:
· Design maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods.
· Work with Plant management on maintaining machine efficiencies.
· Carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment failures.
· Diagnose breakdown problems.
· Maintains continuity between Maintenance, Processing, Safety and Quality teams by documenting and/or communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs as they arise.
· Adding or removing processing machinery.
· Will promote and maintain a clean organized safe work environment, be responsible for proper material storage, and waste disposal.
· Control maintenance tools, parts & equipment.
· Respond to and lead actions associated with emergencies, unplanned issues, and repairs.
· Improve health and safety procedures.
· Assists and trains other maintenance and/or other technical level employees.
· Communicate effectively with others at various levels using both oral and written communication skills.
· Maintains continuity between Maintenance, Processing, Safety, and Quality teams by documenting and/or communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs as they arise.
· Successfully lead and function within a team environment and be able to adapt to change.
· Complete training in a timely manner as assigned.
· Any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications:
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Ability to utilize computerized workflow scheduling, tracking, and documentation software.
· Ability to perform major machine diagnostics and performance tuning.
· Ability to perform all machine preventative maintenance tasks, calibrations, and timing adjustments with supervision.
· Ability to perform minor and major machine diagnostics and performance tuning.
· Ability to use DVM (Digital Voltage Meter) to measure voltage, continuity, resistance. Preferred but not required.
· Proven mechanical/electrical abilities.
· Able to work around moving machinery comfortably and safely.
· Proven mechanical / electrical ability.
· Must have the ability to use thinking and reasoning skills to solve a problem.
· Must possess the ability for working under pressure-complete assigned tasks under stressful situations, and emergencies.
· Capable of working weekends and maintaining a flexible schedule. This includes regularly scheduled shifts on Saturday and Sunday as well as holidays if needed, being on call.
· Working in a farm environment with various conditions
· Does not own or maintain routine contact with swine, birds, or cattle.
Physical Demands:
· Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
· Ability to remain standing and/or walking for extended periods of time on concrete floors.
· Ability to stoop, bend, climb and lift at least 25 pounds. continuously throughout the day and 50 pounds occasionally.
Safety:
· Follow all company safety rules.
· Proper use of PPE.
· Lock out tag out awareness/authorization.
· Report any safety concerns to Manager.
· PIT certified.
