Position Summary:. This full-time Facilities Maintenance position may be assigned a variety of duties, though the central focus will be landscaping and keeping our farm in tip-top condition!

Position Responsibilities:

Mowing, weed trimming, watering, and other outdoor tasks
Perform machine calibrations, timing adjustments, and various preventive maintenance functions (oiling, greasing, inspection, etc.).
Perform minor and/or major machine diagnostics / performance tuning with supervision
Perform build and installation of various machines with supervision.
Any other duties assigned by management.
Minor "home repair" tasks
Ability to comply with the strictest standards for Food Safety, biosecurity, and animal welfare and to report incidents of abuse, neglect, or breach of standards to management.
Maintain the general facility of the processing plant.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to perform minor machine diagnostics and performance tuning.
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, manuals, and instructions.
Able to work around moving machinery comfortably.
Working in a farm environment with various conditions.
Does not own or maintain routine contact with swine or birds.

Physical Demands:

Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
Ability to remain standing and/or walking for extended periods of time on concrete floors.
Ability to stoop, bend, climb, and lift at least 50 lbs. continuously throughout the day.
Capable of working weekends and maintaining a flexible schedule. This includes regularly scheduled shifts Saturday and Sunday as well as holidays. (Being on Call).
